A ASSUNÇÃO: o que podemos entender?

POR QUE A ASSUNÇÃO?

Hoje é a festa da Assunção da Virgem Maria. Este pode ser um difícil ensinamento da Igreja Católica para alguns entenderem ou até mesmo verem a relevância dele no mundo de hoje. Os católicos são chamados a crer que o corpo e a alma da Mãe de Jesus foram levados aos Céus poucas décadas depois de seu filho ter sido crucificado a fim de se unir novamente a Ele, e participar plenamente da vida celeste .

Isso soa muito bonito. Impossível, piedoso e ingênuo, mas adorável. Mas, o que isso tem a ver comigo? Que tipo de conexão eu tenho com a Virgem Maria? Seu corpo está “lá no alto” … no céu, e eu estou aqui na terra. Espero chegar ao céu um dia, mas esse dia pode parecer muito distante da minha vida cotidiana.

Que diferença faz, de qualquer modo, se eu acredito ou não na Assunção Corporal de Nossa Senhora? Além disso, por que esse é um “dia santo”?

Algumas denominações do Cristianismo à parte da Igreja Católica frequentemente veem toda essa conversa sobre Nossa Senhora, dias de festa, orações, rosários e medalhas, como distrações do nosso relacionamento principal, que é com o próprio Cristo. Além disso, não há menção bíblica de que a Virgem tenha sido assunta aos céus de corpo e alma!

Também não há, porém, menção sobre a morte de São José, ou sobre o que ocorreu com vários dos apóstolos, ou o paradeiro da Cruz ou do cálice que Cristo usou na Santa Ceia (embora Indiana Jones e a Última Cruzada tenha sido um filme bem legal sobre esse último).

O QUE ISSO SIGNIFICA PARA MIM?

São João, em seu Evangelho, disse-nos que se fosse para ele escrever tudo o que Jesus disse e fez, o próprio mundo não seria capaz de conter os livros que seriam escritos. Imaginemos com Shakespeare que realmente existem “mais coisas entre céu e na terra do que supõe nossa filosofia”.

O que a Assunção de Nossa Senhora poderia significar para mim, aqui e agora?

Somos homens e mulheres, jovens e velhos. Nós estamos suando aqui embaixo, pagando contas, estressando-nos com a quantidade de trabalho feito e ainda por fazer, ansiando e sofrendo nesse tempo apenas para ser, amar e ser amado, frustrado com a injustiça e o ódio que nos cerca, a dor e a pobreza, e a batalha pessoal em nossos corações por uma paz que pode finalmente trazer sentido, harmonia e luz.

Para nós, esta Assunção de Nossa Senhora significa que o melhor ainda está por vir.

Significa que toda essa bagagem que carregamos conosco ao longo da vida (e a dos outros que nos vemos preocupados sobre), os fracassos e as fraquezas, as cruzes e a confusão, a tristeza e, acima de tudo, o pecado, não podem, no fim de tudo, nos atrapalhar a alcançar nosso destino.

Esse fardo que carregamos pode ser transformado, transfigurado, e as impurezas, deixadas para trás. A plenitude nos aguarda, se abrirmos nossos corações para a graça de Deus, como a Virgem Maria fez durante toda sua vida.

ENTÃO, O QUE FAZER?

Se permitimos a graça da morte e ressurreição de Cristo em nossos corpos através da Eucaristia, então, como Maria, permitindo que Ele entre em seu ventre, nossos corpos florescerão na Vida Eterna! E podemos dizer com São Paulo: “Ó morte, onde está sua vitória? Morte, onde está o seu guilhão?”

Assim como ela O recebeu e correu com pressa para a região montanhosa de Judá para se encontrar com sua família, Maria foi à nossa frente para as Colinas Eternas além do nosso mundo. Sua vida no céu, a união de seu corpo com sua alma, é um sopro extasiante da trombeta que diz a nós aqui embaixo de que tudo ficará bem.

Assim, olhamos ao redor e vemos que a divisão e o divórcio, a mágoa e a ruptura que existe entre nossos corações, sempre jovens e desejosos de VIDA, e nossos corpos definhando e caindo na MORTE, NÃO era o plano original de Deus.

 O plano original de Deus é a união – corpo e alma. Harmonia entre coração e mente.

O pecado entra para separar, para dividir e fazê-los estranhos. Mas a promessa da ressurreição que Maria está vivendo AGORA é a nossa promessa também. A morte não pode vencer pois o Céu já venceu!  E nossos corpos também irão florescer na Nova Terra, lavados, limpos e renovados pelo Divino Furacão que é a Vida e o Amor do próprio Deus.

Maria, Estrela do Mar e Sinal e Esperança do nosso Destino, rogai por nós!
