Papa: Misericórdia, o palpitar do coração de Deus

O Papa Francisco renovou o convite para a confissão, para assim descobrirmos que a misericórdia de Deus é bem maior do que as nossa misérias. Como Tomé, “peçamos hoje a graça de reconhecer o nosso Deus: de encontrar no seu perdão a nossa alegria, na sua misericórdia a nossa esperança”.

“Quando nos confessamos, tem lugar o inaudito: descobrimos que precisamente aquele pecado, que nos mantinha distantes do Senhor, converte-se no lugar do encontro com Ele”. E “em cada perdão recebemos novo alento, somos encorajados, pois nos sentimos cada vez mais amados.”

Dirigindo-se aos 50 mil fiéis presentes na Praça São Pedro no Domingo da Divina Misericórdia – festa instituída por São João Paulo II – o Papa Francisco recordou do perdão, afirmando que diante das passagens que parecem bloqueadas pela vergonha, pela resignação e pelo nosso pecado, justamente ali “Deus faz maravilhas”, pois Ele adora entrar através das portas fechadas”, pois para Ele, “nada é intransponível”.

Os discípulos reconheceram Jesus pelas suas chagas. Inspirando-se no Evangelho do dia que descreve a incredulidade de Tomé que diz que acreditaria somente se pusesse “o dedo nas marcas dos pregos” e  “a mão no seu lado”, o Papa iniciou dizendo que “temos de agradecer a Tomé, pois a ele não bastou ouvir dizer dos outros que Jesus estava vivo, e tampouco de vê-Lo em carne e osso, mas quis ver dentro, tocar com a mão nas suas chagas, os sinais do seu amor.”

“Se eu não vir a marca dos pregos em suas mãos, se eu não puser o dedo nas marcas dos pregos e não puser a mão no seu lado, não acreditarei”.

Vemos Jesus pelas suas chagas

Tomé, o «Dídimo», “é verdadeiramente nosso irmão gêmeo. Pois também a nós não basta saber que Deus existe”:

“Um Deus ressuscitado, mas longínquo, não nos preenche a nossa vida; não nos atrai um Deus distante, por mais que seja justo e santo. Não. Nós também precisamos “ver a Deus”, de “tocar com a mão” que Ele tenha ressuscitado por nós”.

“Entrar nas suas chagas significa contemplar o amor sem medidas que brota do seu coração.  Este é o caminho. Significa entender que o seu coração bate por mim, por ti, por cada um de nós. Queridos irmãos e irmãs, podemos nos considerar e chamar-nos cristãos, e falar sobre muitos belos valores da fé, mas, como os discípulos, precisamos ver Jesus tocando o seu amor. Só assim podemos ir ao coração da fé e, como os discípulos, encontrar uma paz e uma alegria mais fortes que qualquer dúvida”.

O Papa a seguir, chamou a atenção para o pronome usado por Tomé ao exclamar «Meu Senhor e meu Deus!»:

“Trata-se de um pronome possessivo e, se refletimos sobre isso, podia parecer fora do lugar referi-lo a Deus: como Deus pode ser meu? Como posso fazer que o Todo-poderoso seja meu? Na realidade, dizendo meu, não profanamos a Deus, mas honramos a sua misericórdia, pois foi Ele que quis “fazer-se nosso””.

Deus – ressaltou o Pontífice – “não se ofende de ser “nosso”, pois o amor exige familiaridade, a misericórdia requer confiança”, como Ele mesmo se apresenta no primeiro dos Dez Mandamentos e também a Tomé:

“Entrando hoje, através das chagas, no mistério de Deus, entendemos que a misericórdia não é mais uma de suas qualidades entre outras, mas o palpitar do seu coração. E então, como Tomé, não vivemos mais como discípulos vacilantes; devotos, mas hesitantes; nós também nos tornamos verdadeiros enamorados do Senhor! Não tenhamos medo desta palavra: enamorados do Senhor!”

Deixar-se perdoar

Mas, “como saborear este amor, como tocar hoje com a mão a misericórdia de Jesus?” Logo depois de ressuscitar – explica o Papa – Jesus “dá o Espírito para perdoar os pecados”:

“Para experimentar o amor, é preciso passar por ali. Eu me deixo perdoar? Mas, Padre, ir confessar-se parece difícil. Diante de Deus, somos tentados a fazer como os discípulos no Evangelho: trancarmo-nos por detrás de portas fechadas. Eles faziam isso por temor e nós também temos medo, vergonha de abrir-nos e contar os nossos pecados. Que o Senhor nos dê a graça de compreender a vergonha: de vê-la não como uma porta fechada, mas como o primeiro passo do encontro”.

Da vergonha ao perdão

Sentir-se envergonhados, reitera Francisco, é um motivos para sermos agradecidos, pois “quer dizer que não aceitamos o mal, e isso é bom”:

“ A vergonha é um convite secreto da alma que tem necessidade do Senhor para vencer o mal. ”

“O drama está quando não se sente vergonha por coisa alguma. Nós não devemos ter medo de sentir vergonha! E passemos da vergonha ao perdão!”

Resignação

Mas diante deste perdão do Senhor, há uma porta fechada: a resignação, experimentada pelos discípulos quando  “na Páscoa, constatavam que tudo tivesse voltado a ser como antes: ainda estavam lá, em Jerusalém, desalentados; o “capítulo Jesus” parecia terminado e, depois de tanto tempo com Ele, nada tinha mudado”.

O mesmo pode ocorrer conosco. Mesmo sendo cristãos há muito tempo, parece que nada muda, “cometo sempre os mesmos pecados”, e desalentados, “renunciamos à misericórdia”:

“Entretanto, o Senhor nos interpela: “Não acreditas que a misericórdia é maior do que a tua miséria? Estás reincidente no pecado? Sê reincidente em clamar por misericórdia, e veremos quem leva a melhor!”. E depois – quem conhece o sacramento do perdão o sabe – não é verdade que tudo permaneça como antes”.

“Em cada perdão – recordou o Papa –  recebemos novo alento, somos encorajados, pois nos sentimos cada vez mais amados, mais abraçados pelo Pai:

“E quando, sentindo-nos amados, caímos mais uma vez, sentimos mais dor do que antes. É uma dor benéfica, que lentamente nos separa do pecado. Descobrimos então que a força da vida é receber o perdão de Deus, e seguir em frente, de perdão em perdão. E assim segue a vida: de vergonha em vergonha, de perdão em perdão. E esta é a vida cristã”.

O nosso pecado

Mas há uma outra porta fechada, muitas vezes “blindada”:  o nosso pecado.

“Quando cometo um grande pecado, se eu, com toda a honestidade, não quero me perdoar, por que o faria Deus?”, pergunta o Papa, que explica:

“Esta porta, no entanto, está fechada só de um lado: o nosso; para Deus nunca é intransponível. Ele, como nos ensina o Evangelho, adora entrar justamente através “das portas fechadas”, quando todas as passagens parecem bloqueadas. Lá Deus faz maravilhas”.

Lugar do encontro

“Ele nunca decide separar-se de nós, somos nós que o deixamos do lado de fora”:

“Mas quando nos confessamos, tem lugar o inaudito: descobrimos que precisamente aquele pecado, que nos mantinha distantes do Senhor, converte-se no lugar do encontro com Ele. Ali o Deus ferido de amor vem ao encontro das nossas feridas. E torna as nossas chagas miseráveis semelhantes às suas chagas gloriosas. Existe uma transformação: a minha mísera chaga assemelha-se às suas chagas gloriosas. Pois Ele é misericórdia e faz maravilhas nas nossas misérias. Como Tomé, peçamos hoje a graça de reconhecer o nosso Deus: de encontrar no seu perdão a nossa alegria;  de encontrar na sua misericórdia a nossa esperança”.
